Miss Nevada USA 2018 concluded with the crowning of Carolina Adriana Urrea, the winner of the night. The event was held at South Point Hotel Casino & Spa on 7th January 2018. Carolina will now go on to represent Nevada in Miss USA 2018. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Nevada USA 2017 Lauren York. She bested 20 other candidates to win the coveted title.
Carolina was representing Paradise province, her native place in the competition. She is 23 years of age and stands tall at 173 cm. Though from Paradise, she lives in Las Vegas and can fluently speak Spanish and English. She wants to bring awareness to the community about the Nevada Partnership of Homeless Youth, an organization that offers programs to meet the survival needs of Nevada’s homeless youth to help them successfully transition out of homelessness. Carolina loves to travel and experience new cultures, food and people.
Carolina shared her excitement with everyone after her win, “I had the most incredible weekend of my life. I met some of the most amazing beautiful confident women from all of Nevada. Pageantry has always been a passion of mine. 3 years ago I would have never imagined this day would come. This journey has made me grow in so many aspects of my life and has helped me become the woman I am today. I thank you, Lord for granting me the desires of my heart and for always standing by my side. Words cannot describe what I am still feeling at this moment. I’m forever grateful for this opportunity. I have worked so hard leading up to this day. I’m so thankful and truly believe hard work does pay off. Don’t let your fears keep you from dreaming; don’t give up for any reason!! Believe in yourself because anything is possible.”
At the same event, Britney Barnhart was crowned Miss Nevada Teen USA 2018 by Miss Nevada Teen USA 2017 Alexis Smith. She will now represent Nevada in Miss Teen USA 2018.
Nevada had a good year in 2014 when Miss Nevada USA 2014 Nia Sanchez won Miss USA 2014 and also was the first runner-up of Miss Universe 2014. It would be really interesting if Carolina can also work her magic and win Miss USA 2018.
