The 21st edition of Miss Nicaragua was held on 14th August 2021 at the Holiday Inn Managua - Convention Center in Managua, where Allison Wassmer of Managua was crowned as Miss Nicaragua 2021. Wassmer succeeds and was crowned by Miss Nicaragua 2020 Ana Marcelo of Estelí.

26 years-old Allison Wassmer started working at the young age of 16, owns a business and has a degree in graphic design from the Universidad Centroamericana, Managua. She is an expert in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. In 2015, she joined Joyas Esther in Managua as a community manager.

Allison bested five other finalists for the national title and an opportunity to represent Nicaragua at the upcoming edition of Miss Universe 2021. Miss Nicaragua 2021 Allison Wassmer’s court includes:

First runner-up: Glennys Medina Segura of Rivas

Second runner-up: Zulema Bravo of Acoyapa

In her first words as the newly crowned Miss Nicaragua, Allison Wassmer thanked God and all of Nicaragua who supported her during her preparation. She also shared that since last year, she began to follow the contest, and her main motivation was to break with the canons of beauty. At first, she revealed she had doubts because she considered not having what it took to win the crown, however, she was filled with courage and self-confidence.

Earlier this year, Ana Marcelo represented Nicaragua at Miss Universe 2020 and made her country proud with all the work and effort she achieved as a representative during her period as the queen and securing a position in the Top 21. Allison Wassmer will represent Nicaragua, coming December, in the 70th edition of Miss Universe, to be held in the city of Eliat, Israel. If she wins, she will be the international beauty pageant’s first titleholder from Nicaragua, as the country is yet to pioneer  its win at Miss Universe.
