The regional finale of Miss North Carolina USA 2016 concluded on October 10’ 2015 at the High Point Theater in Hugh Point. Allie Dunn was crowned as the winner by the outgoing queen Julia Dalton. This was Dunn’s second attempt at Miss North Carolina USA pageants. She was the first runner-up at the Miss North Carolina Teen USA 2013 pageant, and fourth runner-up at the Miss North Carolina USA 2014 pageant. She will represent her state at Miss USA 2016, to be held in July 2015 in United States.
“I decided to go into pageants because it was something I was always interested in. Competing has opened so many doors – I now have a modeling career. It goes beyond just the title, and it is so much fun.” she said. Dunn is a Junior Hospitality and Tourism Management major in the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University.

Dunn will have few months to prepare for Miss USA 2016, where she hopes to be crowned by the reigning Miss USA Olivia Jordan from Oklahoma. At the same event, Devin Gant (Miss Harrisburg USA) was adjudged as the first runner-up, Renee Burrows (Miss Lake Norman USA) was adjudged as the second runner-up, Katie Coble (Miss South Charlotte USA) was titled as the third runner-up and Kensley Leonard (Miss Wake County USA) ended up as the fourth runner-up. Also, Emily Wakeman was crowned Miss North Carolina Teen USA 2016.
