Sydnee Stottlemyre was crowned Miss Missouri USA 2016 on October 4, 2015 by the departing queen, Rebecca Dunn. Miss Greater Lee’s Summit, Bayleigh Dayton was titled as first runner-up. Miss Osage Beach, Tori Kruse was adjudged as second runner-up, Miss Central Columbia, Catherine Kennebeck was declared as third runner-up and Miss Columbia, Madison Langley was announced as fourth runner-up.
After Olivia Jordan’s spectacular performance at Miss Universe 2015 by bagging the second runner up title, USA has set its eyes on the quest to find its new queen for Miss Universe 2016. Sydnee is not new to the world of glitz and glamour. Sydnee was formerly crowned Miss Missouri Teen USA 2011 and placed fourth runner-up to Miss Teen USA 2011 at the Atlantis Luxury Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. She also competed at Miss America’s Outstanding Teen 2009 where she finished as the fourth runner-up.

Sydnee studies at the Missouri School of Journalism. As an aspiring journalist, she has a passion for words and loves to write whenever she can. Changing the world and a pageant lifestyle may not seem like a liable combination, but for Sydnee Stottlemyre, perseverance in both has paid off. Stottlemyre is from Chesterfield, Missouri, and a graduate of Lafayette High School. She is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma women’s fraternity and a former Total Person Program tutor for the University of Missouri Athletics Department. Stottlemyre is the former national spokesperson for MU’s Research Center of Human-Animal Interaction and enjoys volunteering at Cedar Creek Therapeutic Riding Center.
Stottlemyre started participating in pageants at age of 7 and saved the earnings to fund her college career before she completed high school. The beauty queen once expressed before paparazzi: “I was lucky enough to pay for two semesters of college here at MU through my prize package with Miss Missouri’s Outstanding Teen combined with the national prize package of placing 4th runner-up at Miss America’s Outstanding Teen.”

Apart from beauty the diva has an outstanding intellect. Stottlemyre takes her education gravely enough that she asked one of her professors, Holly Higginbotham, if she could take an exam earlier than the rest of the class to compete in the Miss Missouri USA pageant. Stottlemyre said her professors have been amazing to work with. The beauty queen opined: “I’m doing my best to hold myself accountable to my schoolwork, because I know that being Miss Missouri USA only lasts one year. I still need a degree to accomplish my career goals. I hope I can return my gratitude to them by working diligently to stay on top of my course load.”
The queen of Missouri also expressed: “I hope I can use my position as Miss Missouri USA to encourage people around me to never settle when it comes to their ambitions – you don’t have to stop at good. You can go for great, too.”
Missouri has merely one Miss USA crown as Shandi Finnessey became the first Miss USA from the state in 2004. Shandi later went on to become first runner-up at Miss Universe 2004. Missouri also has three-second runner-up crowns, three third runner-up and multiple semi-finalists. Missouri debuted at Miss USA in the year 1952 where Carolyn Carlew bagged the second runner-up crown for the state. Do you believe Sydnee Stottlemyre can become second woman from Missouri to win the title?
