A bullying victim at a very early age, Lovely grew up shy, and introvert. Rather than spending her time outside, playing with kids her age, she would sit at home and study. It did pay off in the sense that she graduated high school very early.

A lesson that Lovely says she has learnt from her childhood, and would always stay with her, is that ‘you can never be defined but what others say or thinks of you, it is your perception of yourself that would always matter and that negative criticisms would eventually fuel you to improve and be the best version of yourself.’

Her most memorable moment is when she overcame one of her biggest fears, facing a crowd. Lovely won a pageant and overcame this fear.

She wants to be Miss Philippines Earth because she wants to infuse awareness, be a part of the environmental solution that this institution is aiming for, inspiring many people in changing their lifestyle into an eco-friendly living, and be a part of the sustainable change the planet needs.

Her advocacy is to promulgate more urban farms within cities and to inspire a greener lifestyle by #Going Green which means using green technology and combining nature and modernization together to create a harmonious urban setting.

With goals as clear as crystal, Gabrielle Camille Basiano will be walking the stage of Miss Philippines Earth 2018 on 19th May.
