The organization of Miss Dominican Republic Universe has appointed Kimberly Jiménez as the new Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2020 and will be representing the country at the Miss Universe 2020 stage. The organization of the contest reported, through a press release, that complying with the protocol and sanitary measures due to the coronavirus situation, they chose to send a representative to the contest, since this greatly benefits the country.
Kimberly is 23-years-old and works as a model and actress; is the daughter of a Dominican father and a Puerto Rican mother. The diva is excited to be able to represent her country at Miss Universe 2020 stage and feels grateful that the organization has trusted her with the title.
Kimberly is not new to the world of pageantry as she was adjudged as the second runner up at Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2017 at the end of the event finale. She later represented the province of La Romana in the Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2019 where she was adjudged as the first runner-up at the end of the event finale. During her participation at Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2019, Kimberly mentioned, “I feel is so great that I cannot be calm, my nerves, anxiety, tears without reason, thousands of soliloquies, thousands of questions and thousands of sacrifices. It has been two years since my last participation in the beauty pageants, two years in which I had been thinking and preparing to return in search of my dreams I finally share that today I present myself before you as the new Miss La Romana Dominican Republic 2019.” She was highly appreciated for her strong performance during the competition.
The diva who has not only had the chance to be a part of Dominican Republic but also Puerto Rico beauty pageants says, “I have the privilege of being a woman with two nationalities thanks to my mother for giving me a Dominican father and together teaching me love and respect for both cultures.” Kimberly has always aspired to represent the country at international stage and when she was announced as the Miss Universe Dominican Republic 2020, she was filled with so much happiness and gratitude that her dreams are finally coming true.
Kimberly is very grateful for the opportunities she has received till now which has helped her to showcase her best self-on-stage and make her mark in the beauty pageant world. She will be officially crowned by the outgoing Miss Dominican Republic 2019 Clauvid Dály without the usual audience of the pageant, but under a production of a special that will be broadcast on Thursday i.e., 1st October 2020 at 9:00 pm on Color Vision.
The new queen thanked God for the new challenge that, she indicated, will assume with all the responsibility and love of the universe, as well as the organization of Miss RD Universe and Mrs. Magalis Febles for having trusted in her potential. "We made the decision to send a representative even when the current conditions caused by COVID-19 are not the best," Magali said.
