Daescia DeMoranville crowned Miss Rhode Island USA 2018 for Miss USA 2018

At the culmination of Miss Rhode Island USA 2018 finale night held at the Vets Providence in Rhode Island, Daescia DeMoranville was crowned Miss Rhode Island USA 2018. She will now go on to represent her state, Rhode Island, in Miss USA 2018 to be held next year. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Rhode Island 2017 Kelsey Swanson.

Daescia is 21 years of age and hails from Johnston. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Baking & Pastry Arts from Johnson & Wales University. She was a cheerleader for 8 years and during her years of cheer leading, she also won 2 state champion awards in the same. She has a great passion for animals and hopes to be a part of a rescue organization where she can play a role in saving animals’ lives that have not been raised in the healthiest situations. Along with that, she hopes to open her own bakery which will include treats for pets too!

Throughout her reign, she hopes to get out in the community and speak about depression and suicide awareness as she wants to spread light on the topic and help people who feel like their voices are not being heard. Daescia is now looking forward for the new challenges and nobody will be able to stop her from reaching her goals.

At the same event, Aliyan Moore was crowned Miss Teen Rhode Island 2018 and she will now go on to represent her state, Rhode Island, in Miss Teen USA 2018 to be held next year.
