African beauty Ndèye Fatima Dione was crowned Miss Senegal 2020 in January last month as she became the official representative of Senegal in Miss World 2020. With her being recently confirmed as the official delegate, Dione has begun her preparations to represent her country at the international platform. Fatime succeeds and was crowned by Miss Senegal 2019 Alberta Diatta. This year’s theme for the national pageant was ‘Tourism, Sport and Culture as vectors of development in Senegal’.
Ndèye Fatima was the official representative of Fatick region at the national pageant. At the grand event organized at the Grand Theater in Dakar, Fatima bested thirteen other contestants to win the national crown. The 21-year-old beauty showed immense potential as she was awarded the title. Ever since her crowning, the African beauty has been busy with her reigning responsibilities as she is preparing for her stint.
The national contest, after the election, was hit with controversies as Ndèye Fatima was deemed ‘too dark’ and ‘too threadlike’ to represent Senegal women at an international stage. But Fatima accepted the criticism like the magnificent woman she is and now advocates against artificial depigmentation of skin.
