At the conclusion of the magnificent finale of Miss Singapore 2017 held at Concorde Hotel, Crystal Lim, 22, has been crowned as Miss Grand Singapore 2017, Amanda Li, 19, won Miss Singapore Global Beauty Queen, while 18-year-old Christina Cai was picked as Miss Singapore Chinatown. Financial consultant Tricia Koh, 25, won Miss Singapore Tourism Queen. The four winners will go on to represent Singapore internationally under each title. There were supposed to be 19 finalists, but one did not turn up due to medical reasons.
The pageant also stirred controversy earlier in July when an unofficial photo of the finalists surfaced online where many netizens questioned the girl's calibre and criticised their physical appearances by saying they were not attractive enough to participate in the Miss Singapore 2017 pageant. Six of the finalists were permanent residents, with three originally from China and three from Malaysia. Some of the finalists also said that they had been unfairly targeted and defended their participation only because of an unofficial photo of the finalists which was surfaced online.
