Iqra Ahmed Hassan was crowned Miss Somalia 2022 at the finale of the national pageant held a few days ago. Iqra is 21 years of age and hails from Jubbaland. She will now represent Somalia at Miss Supranational 2023.

On winning the national title and the chance to represent Somalia at Miss Supranational, Iqra took to her official social to reveal her emotions in a post captioned, “First, would like to thank Allah for giving me faith, strength, courage, and determination to succeed and realize my dream MISS SOMALIA 2022, Alxamdulilah! To win Miss Somalia and represent my wonderful country on a global stage is something I have always dreamt of; with the grace of God, it's now a reality and something that I will forever cherish and keep in my heart!”

“To my family who always supported and believed my wild dreams, to my close friends who always gave me a shoulder to lean to my mentors who guided me throughout my journey and to my supporters both in Somalia and around the world who cheered and stood by my side every minute in this journey thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. You are all winners; together, we made history and we made our beloved nation proud! InshaAllah, this is the beginning of never-ending success”, she added.

Miss Supranational 2023, the 14th edition of the Miss Supranational, will be held next year in 2023. Miss Supranational 2022 Lalela Mswane of South Africa will crown her successor at the end of the event finale. Starting from 2023 edition, the Miss Supranational Organization have decided to accept women from ages of 18 to 32 years old to participate in the pageant.
