23 years old finalist of Miss South Africa 2016, Ntandoyenkosi Kunene is an Honours student at Wits University, hailing from Mkhondo, Mpumalanga. Her idea behind joining the Miss South Africa 2016 pageant was to help others rise above their circumstances, to stop people from defining themselves by where they come from or what they do.
“I am inspired by the women the Miss SA brand has produced in the last half century: selfless woman who use the opportunities afforded them to not only elevate themselves, but to be of help to others, to serve.” Says - Ntandoyenkosi Kunene.

Ntandoyenkosi is inspired by Kerishnie Naicker and Basetsana Kumalo. Kerishnie was the first Miss South Africa that Ntandoyenkosi saw getting crowned and Basetsana’s success from pageantry to the business world has left her in awww.
Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng, the first black woman to obtain a PhD in Mathematics Education is also her role model. Mamokgethi Phakeng runs an Adopt-a-learner foundation.

Ntandoyenkosi describes herself as a talkative person who loves to talk all day long. In her spare time, she likes watching movies and meeting her girlfriends for lunch or dinner.
Ntandoyenkosi is a strong believer of the famous saying - “Never give in, tomorrow could be the day that brings just what you need to turn your life around.”
