No livestream for Miss South Africa 2017 creates fury

Miss South Africa 2017 pageant has concluded with the crowning of the crowd’s favourite Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters. Demi is now all set to represent the country at either Miss World or Miss Universe pageant. The beauty looks like a strong bet from South Africa, and if Demi trains herself well, she might be the next Rolene Strauss.

The gala finale was an event full of glamour and panache. The star-studded event was attended by Johannesburg’s Mayor Herman Mashaba and local singer Lira. The event was hosted by local rapper Proverb and presenter and actress Lalla Hirayama. Olympic gold medallist Cameron van der Burgh was present as one of the judges for the night.

Although all was good in the hood, people were disappointed as they thought that the pageant should have been broadcasted on SABC, and not Mzanzi Magic. It was a disappointing moment for the South Africans as they felt that they couldn’t witness the moment they have been waiting for – the crowning moment of the next Miss South Africa.

The internet went viral over the discussion, and there was one Twitter post read, “I don't even know the current Miss SA. This is a private mcimbi, not a South African thing. Promoters & sponsors ball #MissSA2017.”

It was highly disappointing for the fans who have been waiting for the finale, and also for those who had no interest in witnessing the finale. However, looks like Demi’s victory might have calmed the anger of few, who were supporting her for the crown.
