Miss South Africa 2020, the 62nd edition of Miss South Africa, will host its annual edition virtually in the month of August where the next delegate to represent South Africa at international pageants will be crowned. South Africa’s performance at the international beauty pageants has been incredible as the divas have always proven their worth in the competition and with their remarkable performances, they have taken home multiple titles, especially in the recent years.
Rebuilt under ‘Face your power, embrace your future’, stunning beauties will compete for the crown and the opportunities to represent South Africa in Miss Universe 2020, Miss Supranational 2020 and Miss World 2020. The Miss South Africa organization has announced the names of judges for the first round of the competition.
Just recently, the Top 15 semi-finalists were revealed out of the 35 contestants who began their journey in the national competition. Jordan van der Vyver is one of the top 15 delegates who have been selected by the organization for the Miss South Africa 2020. She hails from Greenpoint in Cape Town and is an international model.
The diva wants to use the platform of Miss South Africa to empower and build confidence in the women of South Africa to let them know that they are more than they know. Being an international model, Jordan feels that because she has seen the hardships of life from the front row, she can use that to build up their confidence and boost up their moral in order to empower them for their future. In her entry video, Jordan states that she knows that one woman cannot change the world but if she is given the opportunity as Miss South Africa 2020, she would like to use that to continue the legacy of the previous Miss South African queens and help in the progress of making the country one of the finest in the world.
Jordan is inspired by her mother inspired by her mother who is currently finishing her honours in psychology and has an older sister. Her role model is the late Audrey Hepburn and it was because of meeting Jo-Ann Strauss that she entered the pageant. She is passionate about not only being a beauty queen but also for bringing in the change in the society. She is very thankful for all the opportunities she has received and with every opportunity she believes she has learnt something which will help her in the competition.
She expressed her joy by taking towards her social media account and sharing a thankful message for Miss South Africa organization. She stated, “I am truly overjoyed being chosen as one of the Top 15! I am thankful for the opportunity to further join the Miss South Africa Organisation in facilitating positive change. My journey has been informative, gratifying, and exciting. I have enjoyed all the tasks, videos, and interviews, as well as virtually meeting everyone involved. During such a complex time in our world, this pageant has been a beacon of hope in my life. Continuing this journey, I could not be happier!”
With her experience, confidence, and determination, Jordan can be a tough competition for the delegates and she has already started to prepare herself for the finale event. She has started to work on her on-stage walk, body postures, angles, confidence, communication, and interview skills. She is beautiful and confident that she will make it to the top.
