Miss South Africa 2020 Shudufhadzo Musida, who is all set to represent the country at Miss World 2021 has now officially turned into an author as she is all set to launch her first work. Shudufhadzo has written a children’s book, ‘Shudu finds her magic’, published by Jacana Media in six languages and with enchanting illustrations by Chantelle and Burgen Thome.
Inspired by her childhood and bullying trauma, the book will be available in bookstores around the country and online towards the end of August, in languages including Afrikaans, English, Sesotho, Venda, Xhosa and Zulu. The book marks an incredible and remarkable achievement for the queen.
Supporting their queen, the Miss South Africa organization also took to their social media to share, “We are so excited to announce that our Miss South Africa Shudufhadzo Musid?a is officially an author! The book is inspired by Shudu’s own childhood and the bullying she experienced when she moved to a new province and a new school. She explained that the book is aimed at children aged between 4 and 12 years of age and deals with bullying and the power of friendship. Get ready for some more magic!”
Shudufhadzo took to her social media to talk about her work as she wrote, “There are some moments in your life which you dream about but then to see it in real life, something tangible, something to hold. Now, that is something! I am filled with so much pride and joy to present this book authored by myself… A piece of my heart captured on a page, written especially for kids. A story of struggles and hope. Of falling down and getting back up and of the incredible journey we call life!
“I hope that through my story you will find comfort in the fact that you are not alone, that you matter, that the world needs you! None of us are perfect, we were never meant to be and that’s what makes us so special. I hope that young people will be able to see themselves reflected in the storyline and be able to take something positive away from it,” she added.
Hailing from the city of Ha-Masia in Limpopo, Musida is 23-years-old and has a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Pretoria and has recently completed her post-graduation Honours in International Relations at the University of Witwatersrand.
Shudufhadzo is beautiful, confident, and focused towards her goals and dreams and is very proud of her culture and traditions. She is now all set to present a strong delegation at the Miss World 2021 stage with her strong opinionated personality, and determination to win the title and especially bring in the change in the society.
