The 64th edition of Miss South Africa will be held in August 2022 where Lalela Mswane of KwaZulu-Natal will crown her successor at the end of the event finale. The winner will represent South Africa at either Miss Universe 2022, Miss World 2022 or Miss Supranational 2023.

The organization announced Top 30 delegates who have begun their journey at the national contest. In a series of features, lets know more about these delegates. Ayanda Thabethe, from KwaZulu-Natal, has made it to Top 30.

The 22-year-old stunning beauty hails from Taylor’s Halt in Pietermaritzburg. She is a model by profession and in her final year of BSc in Dietetics and Human Nutrition at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

After completing her studies, Ayanda wishes to branch into the research sector so she can play a role in developing nutrition related guidelines to combat South Africa’s double burden of malnutrition and obesity. Ayanda also considers herself as a person who will give you respect and trust from the beginning and initiate a connection which not only makes her unique and her greatest strength.

On making it to Top 30, Ayanda took to her official social media as she wrote, Something important that I've learnt over the last couple weeks (since entering for Miss SA): People want to see other people do well! The support that I have received is unreal. I honestly wish that I could thank every single one of you individually. Your support has further boosted my confidence and I have already grown through this experience. A million thank you's will never be enough.” Ayanda is also an avid food lover and sometimes pretends she has her own cooking show when she’s alone in the kitchen.
