Natasha Joubert ready to make a comeback at Miss South Africa 2023

05 May 2023 | Priya Bhardwaj

Natasha Joubert, former Miss South Africa 2020 2nd runner-up, is all set to make a comeback as she has announced that she will be competing at Miss South Africa 2023. However, since Natasha already represented South Africa at Miss Universe in 2020, if she wins this edition she wont be able to represent South Africa at Miss Universe 2023.

Natasha hails from Centurion, Tshwane, Gauteng and is a Public Relations Officer at RFJ Inc. Attorneys and founder and owner of Natalia Jefferys (Pty) Ltd. She has a B.Com Marketing Management Graduate from Boston City Campus.

Not new to the pageantry, Natasha competed in Miss Globe 2016 where she represented her country with absolute sincerity and dedication. With her exemplary performance, Natasha was adjudged the fourth runner-up at the end of the event finale. On 10th December 2020, Miss SA appointed Natasha Joubert as Miss Universe South Africa 2020 to represent the country at Miss Universe 2020 but failed to place in the Top 21.

Natasha is also excited to begin this new chapter as she took to her official social media and wrote, “A journey I knew I wanted to continue… I’m so thankful that I get to do it as woman who has had deeper conversations with herself, accepted challenges and never let the outcome determine her self worth. Gratitude doesn’t come close to explain how excited I am to take on this new chapter. This is my entry video for Miss South Africa 2023!”

The winner of Miss South Africa doesn’t automatically go to Miss Universe as the pageant’s purpose is to have a queen to reign in South Africa, do their social work and promote their organization. Natasha can, thus, win and go to the pageant she hasn’t been to yet or not compete internationally at all and they can send a runner up to Miss Universe. Natasha herself was 2nd runner up at Miss SA 2020 and the winner that year chose not to go to Miss Universe, so Natasha went. It will be interesting to see how she performs this year!
