A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step – The gorgeous Puerto Rican beauty Valeria Vazquez Latorre describes this phrase well as this beautiful journey of hers commenced when she competed in Miss Supranational 2018 finale held on 7th December 2018 in Krynica-Zdroj, Malopolska Poland and with all her heart and dedication, she won the coveted crown. She received the crown by the outgoing Miss Supranational 2017 Jenny Kim of South Korea.

Ever since her international crowning, the 25-year-old student of Medical Technology at the University of Puerto Rico’s Medical Science Campus who stands a whopping 179 cm tall has done so much during her reign and impressed everyone.

Valeria’s journey as Miss Supranational embarked from the first interview conducted by the official Organization on 13th December 2019, where she emerged as the reigning Miss Supranational for the very first time and was asked about her entire journey of Miss Supranational 2018 and what she aims to advocate during her reign and much more. Later, she flew to her homeland where she received a cordial welcome by her family and the First Lady of Puerto Rico, Mrs Beatriz Rolssello. Her homecoming was a huge celebration bash as, during her stay, she celebrated her victory in various events, sponsor visits and Puerto Rican Media.

During her stay in her native country, she was also given the honour of being invited to a very special mass in her honour of coming back home in Puerto Rico. The mass took place in the Metropolitan Cathedral-Basilica of Saint John the Baptist in Old Juan. The beauty visited the San Jorge Women and Children’s Hospital Oncology Department where she distributed gifts to the young patients and brought a million-dollar smile on their faces.

A Proud Puerto Rican, Valeria received a special invitation to visit the Senate of Puerto Rico, where she was awarded special recognition as the first Puerto Rico to have won the Miss Supranational title and the one to have competed Puerto Rico’s triumphs in all 5 major beauty pageants of the world.

Thereafter, she kicked-off her official duties in Asia. She visited Thailand for her First International Visit and fulfilled her long-term dream. There, she explored the Thai culture and went on for a promotional tour with Miss Supranational Thailand Organization. She was accompanied by the President of the Miss Supranational Organization, Gerhard Parzutka von Lipinski and Creative Director, Andre Sleigh and visited the official crown sponsor of Miss Supranational Thailand Organization, Imprint Thailand.

Valeria on her Asia tour attended several Press Conferences and events and after that, she went on her Europe tour where she appeared in various interviews, sponsor visits and events and much more. In the Netherlands, she spent the golden days of her vacation where she attended the national pageant of Miss and Mister Supranational Netherlands and was accompanied by her Supra sister Kelly Van Den Dungen. After her Europe tour, she went on to attend a Fashion Show accompanied by Mister Supranational in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The diva also travelled to the New York City to attend the National Puerto Rican Day Parade. The event was the largest demonstration of the cultural pride in the USA and around two million people watch the parade annually.

The Puerto Rican beauty travelled to Honduras at the end of August for a short tour. She is the first Miss Supranational winner who visited this Central American country. There she got interviewed by the local media including Iconos Magazine and shared her experience. Through delivering two speeches, one in a University and one in a Junior and Middle School, she shared her entire journey and how she succeeded in fulfilling her dream. 

With her reign coming to an end, Valeria has surely made her country proud with all her achievements. Besides this, she always looked up to various interviews, beauty pageants and events with charm and always left a mind-boggling impression in the minds of many. She will now crown her successor at the gala night of Miss Supranational 2019 to be hosted on 6th December 2019 in Katowice.
