Kaliegh Garris of Connecticut crowned Miss Teen USA 2019

At the grand coronation night of Miss Teen USA 2019 held tonight at the Grand Sierra Resort's Grand Theatre, Reno in Nevada, Kaliegh Garris of Connecticut was crowned the new queen. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Teen USA 2018 Hailey Colborn who completed her reign with a bang and handed over the title tonight.

Also present at the grand finale were Miss USA 2018 Sarah Rose Summers and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray who welcomed the newly crowned Miss Teen USA 2019 to the sisterhood. The 18-year-old Kaliegh Garris currently is a dual-enrolled student at Joseph A. Foran High School and the Educational Center for the Arts where she majors in Theater. The gorgeous and multi-talented beauty was her absolute radiant self at the finale as she won the title, being every bit worthy of it. The newly crowned queen’s court included –

First Runner-Up – Caitlyn Vogel of North Dakota

Second Runner-Up –Erica Yvette Bonilla of Nevada

Third Runner-Up –Kaylee Brooke McCollum of Mississippi

Fourth Runner-Up –Kalin Burt of Alabama

 

Kaliegh Garris of Connecticut crowned Miss Teen USA 2019

 

The finale began with the introduction of the hosts Tim Tialdo and Nia Sanchez who was crowned Miss USA 2014 and went on to be the first runner-up in Miss Universe 2014. Both the hosts did an absolute commendable job with their duties and introduced the Top 15 on the stage as the contestants were cut down from 51 to 15 at the beginning of the competition.

The Top 15 comprised of Kalin Burt Miss Alabama Teen USA 2019, Maggie Williams Miss Arkansas Teen USA 2019, Kaleigh Garris Miss Connecticut Teen USA 2019, A'Maiya Allen Miss Illinois Teen USA 2019, Hannah Marie DeBok Miss Kansas Teen USA 2019, Amalia Sanches Miss Maryland Teen USA 2019, Annie Lu Miss Massachusetts Teen USA 2019, Kaylee Brooke McCollum Miss Mississippi Teen USA 2019, Erin Shae Swanson Miss Nebraska Teen USA 2019, Erica Yvette Bonilla Miss Nevada Teen USA 2019, Caitlyn Vogel Miss North Dakota Teen USA 2019, Abigail Billings Miss Oklahoma Teen USA 2019, Allie Richardson Miss South Carolina Teen USA 2019, Bailey Guy Miss Tennessee Teen USA 2019 and Grace Turner Miss Wyoming Teen USA 2019.

As the Top 15 were announced, they walked on the stage on energetic tunes as the contestants showcased the athletic wear in the Active Wear competition. Hailey Colborn and Miss USA 2018 Sarah Rose Summers were also called on the stage to talk about their experience as titleholders and both the beauties gave integral pieces of advice to the contestants.

Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray also talked about her reign so far and how the paradigm of shift as a Miss Universe affected her life for the better. The contestants then went on to participate in the Evening Gown Competition and soon after that Top 5 were announced.

Also at the coronation night, Miss Congeniality was awarded to Olivia Herbert of Minnesota as the most amicable and well natured contestant of the competition. Just after that, the Top 5 were made to answer the grueling questions of the jury as they were tested for their knowledge about the world and everything that goes on around us.

Connecticut won the Miss Teen USA after six years as the last win for the state was in 2012. All in all, Miss Teen USA 2019 was definitely a success with very well laid out format, no delays and absolutely stunning performances from all the ladies at the competition.
