In an unfortunate turn of events, Miss Tierra Paraguay 2022 Macarena Tomas has been officially disqualified from the upcoming edition of Miss Earth. This decision was made because of Macarena’s age which is outside of the age limit bracket set by Miss Earth pageant.

According to the LIVE session held by the official organization Reinas del Paraguay which held the pageant in August, Macarena will not be able to attend because of her age since she is currently 29 years old.

Macarena has failed to complete the Miss Earth organization's age limit requirement which is 18-28 years of age (until December 2022). Macarena is an international aero yoga (aerial yoga) instructor who was crowned Miss Tierra Paraguay 2022 at the finale of Reinas del Paraguay 2022 in August.

However, there is no confirmation yet whether a new representative will be selected to be sent to this year's Miss Earth edition. Miss Earth 2022, the 22nd edition of the Miss Earth pageant, will be held on 29th November 2022 in Parañaque, Philippines. Destiny Wagner of Belize Miss Earth 2021 will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
