All about Miss Tourism Metropolitan International 2020/2021 Clarita Mawarni Salem

Clarita Mawarni Salem was virtually crowned as Miss Tourism Metropolitan International 2020/2021 on 17th January 2020. Clarita succeeded Miss Tourism Metropolitan International 2019/20, Lorrany C. Monteiro Guimaraes of Brazil for the title. She also won the subsidiary title of Miss Gorgeous Carla RIno.

Clarita was also crowned Putri Paarwisata Indonesia 2019 and later became Miss Tourism Indonesia 2019 to represent Indonesia at Miss Tourism International 2020/2021. This Indonesian diva is a 19 year-old Model Presenter and a high school graduate of Fides Quaerens Intelectum Kefamenanu, NTT. She is also the Executive Ambassador of her university.

 

 

Addressing the effects of the pandemic on tourism as one the Top 10 contestants, Clarita said, “How I promote tourism is by blending the beauty of destination with the hospitality of the society especially through my social media during the pandemic era.”

Taking a cultural tour in her introductory video, Clarita was seen playing a Traditional musical instrument, Sasando, while enjoying the beauty of nature. Dancing with children and showcasing what customs of her land are like. She said, “I admire my culture. As a young woman I realised that I have a big chance to introduce my culture to the world, so I started my journey.”

 

 

With hope and persistence, she is well aware of having a big platform to introduce her culture to the world. Clarita is a strong, confident woman who promotes being “proud of who you are not ashamed of how someone else sees you.”

Post her win as the Miss Tourism Metropolitan International this year, Clarita took to her Instagram to express her gratitude where she offered her “Big thanks to God Almighty for giving me this position and thanks to my parents, Papa, Mama, and my lovely brothers or loving me and support me. Special thanks to Miss Tourism International for having me as your Miss Tourism Metropolitan International 2020/2021.” Extending thanks to her team, friends and family for their constant support, excited Clarita said, “INDONESIA WE DID IT!”
