Miss USA 2015 to air on Reelz after NBC abandoned the pageant

The Miss USA 2015 pageant, which was abandoned by the NBC has now found a new home. The grand slam pageant of Miss USA 2015 will now be aired on Reelz. Reelz has picked up the rights to telecast the pageant after NBC discarded plans to air the pageant in response to the growing controversy involving Donald Trump.

Stan E. Hubbard, CEO of Reelz said, “The decision on the part of Reelz to acquire the rights to the MISS USA Pageant was based on our belief that this special event, and the women who compete in it, are an integral part of American tradition. As one of only a few independent networks, we decided to exercise our own voice and committed ourselves to bringing this pageant to American viewers everywhere.”

The deal is like a small victory for Trump, who in the recent past has lost his contracts with NBC, Univision and Macy’s. It was after Donald’s controversial statement over Mexican immigrants, that the companies cut their ties to the real estate developer. Reelz, owned by Republican donor Hubbard, previously picked up the high-profile The Kennedys mini series, after History Channel made the decision to snatch it amid controversy.
