Kara McCullough and Karlie Hay spent weekend at Best Buddies International Boston

The reigning queen Miss USA, Kara McCullough and Miss Teen USA 2016, Karlie Hay spent their weekend with ‘Best Buddies International’ and met some incredible people there. Going for a football challenge and seeing other beauty queens in the event was icing on the cake.  They both participated in various events to show their support for Best buddies.

Best Buddies International is a non-profit organisation that works tirelessly to foster and establish one- to-one friendship, integrate employment opportunities and leadership development for people with intellectual and Developmental disabilities. The organisation is teamed up with Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, Miss Universe and SoulCycle (motivational and inspirational organisation) to raise money and to create awareness for the betterment of people. 

Today, Best Buddies' eight formal programs, engage participants in each of the 50 states and in 50 countries positively impacting the lives of nearly 700,000 people with and without disabilities around the world. They also help people to live independently, improve public speaking, self-advocacy and communications skills, and make them feel valued by society.

Karlie Hay was crowned as Miss Teen USA 2016. She was the first Texan to win crown since 2011 whereas Kara McCullough was crowned as Miss USA 2017 and will later represent USA in Miss Universe 2017.
