Monique Evans crowned Miss Florida USA 2020 for Miss USA 2020

Miss Florida USA 2020 held its coronation night on 19th January 2020 ay Coral Springs Center for the Arts in Coral Springs where Monique Evans was crowned as the new queen as she becomes the official representative of Florida in Miss USA 2020. Monique succeeds and was crowned by Miss Florida USA 2019 Nicolette Jennings.

Monique is 28-years-old and stands 170cm tall is a graduate from University of Texas. She currently works as a specialty pharma Rep and ballet instructor. Evans says she was very shy in high school, and participating in pageants when she was in college helped her come out of her shell.

Monique is not new to the pageantry as she entered the world of beauty pageants while she was in college and has participated in various titles including Miss Austin 2011, Miss Texas 2011 where she was placed at the 8th position. Later she was named Miss Hunt County 2019 and was placed 11th at the Miss Texas 2012. Monique’s win at the Miss Texas 2014 where she performed ‘ballet en pointe’ at the talent competition was applauded by the judging panel as well as the audience. Her experience has in the pageantry world helped her during the competition where she was crowned as the new Miss Florida USA 2020 and earned her chance of representing Florida at Miss USA 2020 this spring.

Monique has been using the international beauty pageant to focus on heart disease prevention which was inspired by cardiac issues in her family. Monique’s brother Saxon was born with Shone’s syndrome which is a rare congenital heart disease. She will be serving as a goodwill ambassador for the Miss Florida USA 2020 organization.

Evans said, ‘’she’s appreciated the pageants as she feels they’ve pushed her to be a better person. She credits the experience she’s gathered as a big factor in earning her position as a pharmaceutical representative”. Monique explained that she would like to visit schools and speak to students about nutrition, exercise and mindfulness under her platform “Be Kind to Your Mind,” which was inspired and developed through a combination of work and family.

Third runner-up- Taylor Fulford

Fourth runner-up- Alison Bowles

Apart from Monique’s crowning, Rylie Spicker of Gainesville was crowned Miss Florida Teen USA 2020 and will be representing Florida for the title of Miss Teen USA 2020. Rylie’s court includes Ava Barnd, Kaitlyn King, Brianna Miles and Gabi Purcell who were adjudged first, second, third and fourth runners-up respectively.
