Miss United Continents organization recently announced that the coronation ceremony for Miss United Continents 2020 will not be held in 2020 due to the emergency state and the pandemic that affects the world. The announcement was made via the beauty pageant’s official social media page.

María del Carmen de Aguayo, director of Miss United Continents organization stated that the organization has been following the pandemic situation since the beginning of the March and until today, very little progress or things have changed but, on the contrary there are number of increased cases in some countries which could put everyone’s life at risk if the pageant is hosted.  The organization has stated that as the number of cases is increasing in some countries it is not safe for the delegates to travel internationally so, they have decided to postpone the pageant as of now.

“Due to the aforementioned, we made the decision to suspend our contest, a situation we regret but that for the sake of the ladies and the franchise representative will not be carried out,” the organization stated.

Miss United Continents is a franchise organized by the Municipality of Guayaquil that was created considering that there was a space in the world of beauty pageants that had not been organized globally in the country. Misses chosen as official representatives of each country and who attend the most important beauty events in the world participate in this pageant: Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss Earth, Miss International, among others.

Last year, Anairis Cadavid Ardila from Colombia was crowned as Miss United Continents 2019 giving Colombia the second victory in the history of this contest.
