After spending an emotional voyage at the finale of Miss USA 2-16, Pia is back on her duties and advocacies. The Pinay beauty recently attended a meeting aimed at ending AIDS at the United Nations headquarters in New York City.

The beauty queen shared a picture on her Instagram account with the caption, “proud to represent my fellow countrymen, but most especially the LGBT community from all over the world”. “I represent the Philippines and the rest of the Universe,” she wrote. “I am so humbled to be congratulated and thanked by highly respected ministers and directors from all over the world.”
The UN Meeting brought together heads of State and Government, ministers, people living with HIV, representatives from civil society and international organizations, the private sector, scientists, and researchers.

In another post, Pia described the meeting held at the UN Headquarters and said, “an afternoon of panels and conversations on the importance of a Fast-Track approach.” She also shared a photo of herself at the Philippines’ table at the UN assembly hall.

Pia Wurtzbach has been working with various organisations to get a bigger perspective and gain more knowledge about HIV/AIDS, which she chose as the focus of her advocacy. Last month, the Pinay queen went to Ecuador over the weekend to lend a hand to victims of the recent quake-stricken.
