Everybody is aware of the journey of Pia Wurtzbach, from Binibining Pilipinas to the Miss Universe 2015 crown. The beauty queen went through a lot of hard work and training to achieve what she rightfully owns today. Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach returned home to the Philippines for the first time since her crowning. The awkward moment when Colombia was mistakenly announced as the winner instead of Pia, helped them gain more popularity.

The beauty queen shared that she will be using the intense attention she got after that controversy to focus on her causes like fighting HIV and AIDS. “I’m using the attention to talk about my causes. Now, I have everybody’s attention,” she said. She told a news conference that she plans to be tested for HIV publicly in New York to encourage other people to be tested, including in the Philippines, where HIV cases have risen alarmingly in recent years.

When asked about her plans after her reign, Wurtzbach said she would consider possible job offers in the US and also added, “I might be the next Bond girl, who knows? So, we’ll see, that’s the next dream.” In the past, many international actresses have been cast, alongside actors playing British agent James Bond, and are popularly known as “Bond girls.”

The 26 years old beauty queen has worked as an actress and model in the Philippines before winning the crown. This is the third Miss Universe crown for Philippines, the first one won by Gloria Diaz in the year 1969, and the second one won by Margie Moran in the year 1973.

Wurtzbach told reporters she was so overwhelmed with her victory that she constantly checked on her crown in the initial days and even took a nap beside it but decided not to do that again because she might break it.
