It was indeed a delight to watch… The people came out to catch a glimpse of her, the new Miss Universe, who brought the crown home at last, after 42 years.
A dazzling, smiling Pia Wurtzbach, wearing a sea green terno by Albert Andrada, waved gloriously to the crowd from her perch on the blue Miss Universe float, which resembled her crown.

Starting from the Sofitel on January 25, the float also made its way to Makati and finally, ended the journey at the Araneta Center in Cubao. The fans and supporters waited to get a glimpse of the newly crowned queen, as her float made its way from Manila.
The crowd that went to witness the grand parade, made sure to capture every moment of it. People went all gaga over the beauty and took selfies and pics, freezing the moment.
The enthusiasm and craze among the crowd was clearly visible as the sidewalks and foot bridges were filled with people, some throwing confetti for Wurtzbach.
They held small Philippine flags and little pink banners which had “Pia” written on it.
Blue and pink balloons adorned the other vehicles involved in the parade, including the police motorcycles. Below are the scenes from the earlier part of the festivities.
