With just a week left for the finale of Miss Universe 2016, the reigning queen Pia Wurtzbach is finishing up her last segment of duties. The beauty queen recently visited the Bohol province on Monday. But her visit left many for her fans in surprise, rather in shock. It was Pia’s surprise visit to the province and the information was kept secret.

Pia arrived around 10 am at the Tagbilaran Airport. She was accompanied by the Miss Universe Organisers and backstage host of MU, Ashley Graham. The beauty met provincial officials led by Gov. Edgar Chatto and Vice Gov. Dionisio Balite. Wurtzbach was gifted a symbolic key to Bohol on arrival. Since Pia’s visit was a surprise one, many fans were disappointed they couldn’t see her.

Miss Tagbilaran 1987 Fiel Angeli Araoarao-Gabin said, “I am one of the millions all over the world who shared in the great joy when Pia Wurtzbach was crowned Miss Universe 2015. However, I was dismayed upon viewing the photos of Pia’s Bohol visit today spreading in social media and not having the opportunity to see in person the woman who has gained the admiration of many.”

Another fan named LJ Laquinta expressed his disappointment and said that Boholano fans should have been given a chance to see. He said, “The Miss Universe 2016 candidates didn’t come here since Bohol was not part of their itinerary … they didn’t have to hide Pia from us.”

According to sources, Miss Universe Organisation implemented tight security. As per reports, Wurtzbaach was in Bohol to shoot a video for the Department of Tourism that will be used during the coronation night of Miss Universe 2016. However, it’s still unknown what tourist attraction she will be visiting as no details about her trip were revealed to the media. But as per sources, Pia will visit the beaches on Panglao Island, Loboc River, Chocolate Hills and the viewing and care centers for the tarsier.
