After winning the Miss Universe crown in 2015, Pia Wurtzbach has been engrossed in working for the wellness of the society and spreading awareness about various significant causes.
The UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador for Asia and Pacific, Pia Wurtzbach, embarks upon a new venture as she becomes the first ever ambassador of the ‘Love Gala’ on 9th August 2017. Pia looked delighted to be given this opportunity to work towards the betterment of the society and was seen giving the heart icon for her fans.
The beauty queen from Philippines has been active for creating HIV/AIDS awareness from some time now and has now announced her personal project called Project Progressive Information Awareness (PIA) campaign which has been named as the ‘Love Gala’.
The primary Love Gala will be held on 1st December 2017 parallel to the celebration of the World Aids Day at the city of Taguig. The Gala will be a grand event featuring an exclusive concern, a high end fashion show by famous Philippines designers and also a mini- concert comprising various celebrities.
The central aim of the Gala is to spread HIV/AIDS awareness to a larger audience. Pia Wurtzbach who is very enthusiastic about commencing her ambassadorial duties for the ‘Love Gala’ said, “ We hope to see an increase in HIV awareness, spread love for people living with HIV, and make HIV testing among Filipinos a normal part of their health and wellness routine”.
She concluded by saying, “I believe we can strengthen our bonds and achieve our shared goals of ending AIDS at Philippines, Asia-Pacific and the Universe”.
Love Gala is Asia’s foremost charity and awards gala event that supports the HIV advocacy and raises donation for it. It will also honour 10 people, who would work exceptionally well towards raising HIV/AIDS awareness throughout the country.
