Clarissa Bowers from Florida crowned Miss World America 2017

The magnificent finale of Miss World America 2017 held last night concluded with the crowning of Clarissa Bowers as the winner. Clarissa succeeds Miss World America 2016 Audra Mari and will now represent the USA in Miss World 2017 to be held later this year in China. The beautiful reigning Miss World Stephanie Del Valle graced the event. Clarissa was part of our Top 10 favourites to win the crown.

Clarissa defeated twenty-seven gorgeous beauties to clinch the coveted title and the crown. At the same event, Maureen Montagne representing Arizona was adjudged the first runner-up and Chance Cessna representing District of Columbia was adjudged the second runner-up.  Emanii Davis and Alexandra Curtis finished fourth and fifth respectively.

Top 16 finalists also included Abena Appiah, JoAnn Imosi Emale, Katerina Villegas, Krithika Rajkumar, Louina Lafalaise, Mariela Pepin, Marjana Chowdhury, Maureen Montagne, Mollie Thorsen, Sasha Perea, Shivali Patel and Sierra Bognéar.

Clarissa is just 19 years of age and is presently studying neuroscience at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. Growing up in a military family, she wants to become a reconstructive surgeon in order to help injured and scarred soldiers. She plays volleyball on a collegiate level. Her Beauty with a Purpose project is all about using baseball to encourage disabled children and adults.

Last year, Audra Mari managed to place amongst Top 10 in Miss World 2016. Can Clarissa better that placement and go on to win Miss World 2017?

Miss Teen World America 2017 pageant was also conducted alongside with the selection of the first ever Miss Teen World America - Gracen Grainger. Top five for Miss Teen World America also comprised of first runner-up Alyson McNair of North Carolina, second runner-up Rebekah Holsenback of South Carolina, third runner-up Jillian Elliot of Lousiana, and fourth runner-up Laken Giles of Florida.
