Iris Mittenaere is the reigning Miss Universe and is also the reigning topic of almost every news channel and beauty website. The beauty brought the 64 year long drought of France at Miss Universe, to an end by winning the 65th edition. But, with fame also come rumours, and one such rumour clouded on the newly crowned Miss Universe.
As reported to you about the bizarre rumour about Iris being a lesbian, well, that is not true. Current reports suggest that Iris has a boyfriend and his name is Matthieu Declercq. After defeating 85 other gorgeous women and winning the title of Miss Universe 2016, Iris said, “I have someone in my life who supported me”. No that special someone is not former Miss France Camille Cerf. We are guessing the special someone is Iris’ boyfriend Matthieu.
25-year-old Mathieu is a dentist. He attended Lycee Saint Jude high school and is a graduate from the Henri Warembourg Medicine Faculty. The two have however been not much vocal about their love. As the Miss France Committee rule states that Iris is not allowed to make public appearances with her boyfriend. About a year ago, Matthieu told a French publication that he was not afraid of not seeing much of his girlfriend and that he was proud of her.

Iris’ parents Yves Mittenaere and Laurence Druart got separated when Iris was still a toddler. She has been raised by her mother and the beauty queen is currently studying for a degree in dental surgery. Iris is now in New York, and is planning to start on her journey as the reigning queen.
