Miss Universe 2017 host country is the topic of discussion these days. As per sources and reports, there is a strong possibility of Philippines hosting the pageant this year in November.
It looks like Pia Wurtzbach is all in for Philippines hosting a back to back edition of Miss Universe. “There’s still a lot of time to prepare if ever it really pushes through here in the Philippines. If it happens, then we’ll make sure that it’s going to be an even better show than the last time,” she said.
Pia believes that hosting the Miss Universe 2017 pageant will be great push for the country’s tourism. Pia’s contract with the Miss Universe Organisation has also been increased to 3 years for being an amazing delegate.
Last month, Department of Tourism chair Wanda Teo revealed that the Philippines has been offered the hosting rights to the next edition of the Miss Universe pageant; but, whether or not Philippines will take up the offer, only time will tell.
In one of the interviews with ABS-CBN News, MU Organisation President Paula Shugart said that they were impressed with all the preparations made by the Philippines for the 65th Miss Universe held in January. “I don’t know if everyone knows this but the Miss Universe event in the Philippines in January was the most tweeted event in the world. We even beat the Super Bowl the next week. That means there’s a lot of love for us, for the Philippines,” she said. Shugart later said that nothing has been finalised yet.
“We came here for a nice dinner with good friends. We’ll talk about the future after a nice dinner,” she said.
