Catriona Gray reveals the story behind the broken Miss Universe crown

20 Mar 2019 | Irina Silva

The Mikimoto Miss Universe crown is unquestionably one of the most loved crowns by the fans so it wasn’t a surprise when they noticed a spot missing in the crown when Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray wore it on the homecoming parade in the Philippines.

Catriona sheepishly confessed how she broke a part of the crown as she danced her heart away at the parade. In the video, which was posted on Miss Universe’s social media, the Filipina beauty revealed how she broke a part of the crown saying, “So one of the things I love about the parade is that they have this moving band and they have the drums that make me want to dance, so I end up dancing although I am not a very good dancer.”

She continued holding up a broken piece of the crown, “But I have a confession. The Mikimoto has seen better days as a result of my dancing. I'm so sorry."

On the post, The Miss Universe Organization, of course, assured fans that the crown will be fixed. Here is the complete video of the beauty fussing up –
