During her visit to the Consulate General of Mexico, Andrea said, “I understand how not being close to your roots and your people is lived in a different way. I know that everyone experiences it in different ways with greater or lesser advantages, but I want to tell you that I understand them. I am here because I want to be the voice of all migrants to tell our stories.”

In addition, Andrea Meza received her consular registration that certifies her as a Mexican resident in New York. The consular registration is a document issued by the Consular Offices to certify the nationality and identity of a person as a Mexican residing abroad.

Andrea also took to her official social media as she wrote, “It filled me with joy to be surrounded by so many countrymen today during my visit to the Consulate General of Mexico. For a moment I felt I was in my homeland. Thank you for the welcome and I share with you that today I obtained my Consular Registration as a resident living in New York. This document identifies us as Mexicans residing abroad and serves as official identification. We can all obtain it!”
