10 May 2021 | Camilla Suarez

The Miss Universe organization has been keeping up for the followers with regular interviews and videos of the delegates on their social media platforms. On the occasion of Mother’s Day, the organization released a video titled, ‘A Letter to Mom’, featuring some of the delegates of Miss Universe, as this mother’s day they celebrated their moms by writing them heart-felt letters, sharing messages for their mothers.

Maa, Madre, Mamma, Mom, Mommy there may be a million different ways to say her name, but she will always be one-of-a-kind. Here is how the beauty queens celebrated motherhood by sharing inspiring stories, helpful advices and insightful guidance from their mothers –

Some divas thanked their mothers while others simple told them how much they loved them. El Salvador’s Vanessa Velasquez thanked her mother for all her love, for instilling values in her and for the lessons and advices. Bianca Lorena Tirsin also thanked her mom for making her smile even when she wasn’t feeling like it. She also thanked her for teaching what unconditional love is wishing mother’s day to the best mom, woman and person on the planet.

Brazil’s Julia Gama said she felt grateful for having her mother as her friend who she loves endlessly. Indonesian diva Ayu Maulida also shared how her mother’s arms were always open whenever she needed a hug. Ireland’s Nadia Sayer said her mother always stayed with her and shared her strengths with Nadia when she was sick or even simply scared.

Amanda Obdam of Thailand shared how her mother would always look over her but at the same time let her experience the world on her own. Argentina’s Alina Luz Akselrad said her mother was the first person who believed in her even when she failed to do so. Korean queen Hari Park’s mother taught her how to love herself and how important self-love is.

Some mothers do the most without showing, they pull themselves back to let their families have the most just like Portugal’s Cristiana Silva shared how her mother fought everyday so that she could have a good future, a happy future. Likewise, Lenka Nemer of Bolivia wrote, “Ahead, goes my admiration for your courage and strength for the whole family and me so we could move forward.”

Mothers support their kids at every step in their lives in the same way mother of Bahama’s Shauntae Miller did, from being a track-mom to a pageant-mom, defining a confidently beautiful woman. Alina Sanko of Russia also shared how her mother always did more than that was possible.

Janick Maceta del Castillo of Peru shared how she was so naïve to not understand her mother’s sacrifices at a time. Realizing a mother’s contribution in our lives does not happen sooner in our lives as it should but for Cayman Island’s Mariah Tibbetts she remembers watching her mother do everything when she was a teenager and think to herself if she’ll ever be able to do that as a mom.

Taking their mother’s advices, inspirations and learning forwards the queens promised to make them proud. Myanmar’s Thuzar Wint Lwin promised her mother to use all the kindness and patience that her mother has taught her to make the world a better place. Blerta Veseli of Kosovo assured that she will work every single day to make her mother prouder.

Coming to an end, Spanish beauty Andrea Martinez rightly said how we’re all going to choose our family one day but if it we could we would always choose our mothers. Hillary Ann Williams of Barbados and Kimberly Jiminez of Dominican Republic joined in the other girls to wish their mothers a happy mother’s day and thank them through the love poured into letters for them.

Mothers have always played an important part in the growth of a child and we can never be thankful enough to measure up to the headwork and dedication they put in to raise us into the human beings that we are. It is the same for the delegates of Miss Universe 2020.

The 69th edition of Miss Universe i.e., Miss Universe 2020 is to be held on 16th May 2021 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, the United States where stunning divas from all over the world will be competing for the coveted crown. Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi from South Africa will crown her successor at the end of the grand coronation event.
