The coronation for the 69th edition of Miss Universe i.e., Miss Universe 2020 is all to be held on 16th May 2021 at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino and Hotel, Hollywood, Florida. The beauty competition commenced on 7th May 2021 as divas from all over the world started to arrive at the venue for the competition with a lot of enthusiasm and a winning attitude. The winner will succeed Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa for the title.

According to the rumours that have been spiralling around the pageant community, there have been some changes in the format of the Miss Universe competition as the organization has decided to eliminate the continental top. The new format of the coronation night of Miss Universe 2020 is exactly like how Miss USA 2020 was held last year in November.

Out of 74 delegates who are currently preparing themselves for the finale night at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood Hotel in Florida, the top 20 finalists will be chosen by the judges, and 1 of the delegates will be chosen from the fan votes and join the other 20 delegates for the next round. The voting lines for the fans to vote for their favourite delegates opened a few weeks ago and since then the divas and their organizations have been appealing to the fans to vote for them.

The top 21 finalists will then parade in their swimsuits and then, from 21 finalists, the judges will choose 10 finalists who will then compete in the evening gown round and then narrow the finalists from 10 to 5 for the question-and-answer round. Out of the five finalists, the winner and the runner-up will be announced at the end of the event finale.

There will be no opening statements from the divas and the competition and since the news broke about the new format, the pageant fanatics have been voicing out their opinion because they believe that opening statements from the divas make an impression on the people and everyone looks forward to them. The organization has yet to confirm the news.
