The Miss Universe organization hosted the 70th edition of the international pageant on 12th December 2021 in Eilat, Israel where Harnaaz Sandhu of India was crowned as Miss Universe 2021. At the end of the event, Paraguay’s Nadia Ferreira was also crowned as the first runner-up to Miss Universe 2021 after a successful and highly appreciated journey at the competition and giving her country the highest placement at Miss Universe in history.
The diva had recently returned to her country with a very warm and grand homecoming. The diva then headed to a small ceremony organized for her homecoming where she was honored and presented with some gifts. Ever since, she has been attending and appearing for media and TV interviews.
Most recently the queen was honored with the title, ‘Hija Dilecta de la Ciudad de Asunción’ by the mayor of the city. Nadia also took to her social media to express her gratitude as she shared, “What an honor to be named as ‘Favorite Daughter of the City of Asunción’. I am very grateful to the Mayor and the President of the Municipal Board for this great recognition and to each one of the people for so much love and support. My commitment to you does not end with the Miss Universe, nor with the year, but rather it is for life. To continue carrying the flag of Paraguay and Latin America at the top.”
Nadia’s performance throughout the competition was highly commendable and was definitely a strong contender for the crown since the beginning of the competition. 22 year-old Nadia is currently studying towards a degree in business engineering. She speaks English fluently and can also communicate in Portuguese. In 2015, she appeared in ‘Parodiando in Telefuturo’, a television show in which participants performed parodies of famous singers.
She has had a difficult life but with a positive outlook she has managed to get ahead of everything and make the country proud. Paraguay can really dream with this queen as it will be exciting to see what more does she have in store, onto the next venture of her life.
