The unstoppable queen, Harnaaz Sandhu has been completely occupied and is definitely giving in all her time towards her duties as Miss Universe 2021. The diva is extends awareness about Menstrual Health across the globe. Presently in her home country India, Harnaaz has been speaking up on important topics and inspiring many.
Recently, the diva joined the Children’s Academy Group of Schools to share insights on menstrual hygiene with dearest students in Mumbai city. “I have seen how people have had their perspective towards menstrual hygiene and everything which is related to women’s health and body. My mom also, being a gynecologist, she never gave up and always stood for women around her, so now it is my time to pass this on to the masses that I meet and break the stigma,” the diva shared.
A few months ago, the Miss Universe Organization along with Sandhu announced the launch of a social impact alliance and a platformto assist tackle menstruation equality. Harnaaz has always been outspoken about her advocacy and the significance of female hygiene.
In collaboration with Plan India as the global coalition’s on-the-ground NGO partner in the India pilot programme, it aims at menstruation equity for over 5 million women and girls by 2025. “Because my mother is a gynaecologist, I have been aware of the menstrual inequity in my country for most of my life. Now I can help carry on her work by bringing awareness to this amazing coalition of individuals and organisations which are working together to end the stigma, educate the public, and provide access to necessary products,” Harnaaz mentioned.
After India, the diva will also soon be visiting Philippines and is scheduled for a conversation with Plan International Philippines on 25th April 2022 for ‘Period Pain: Tackling the challenges of Menstrual Equity.’ It will be a youth-led discussion on the importance of menstrual health, the challenges to proper Menstrual Hygiene Management in the Philippines, and the solutions that can be done to improve it.
Harnaaz will also be attending the much awaited Miss Universe Philippines 2022 as a special guest for the coronation ceremony on 30th April 2022. The queen will undoubtedly add to the enjoyment by her graceful and inspiring presence.
