According to the speculations circling the pageant world, Miss Universe 2022 will be held in the first trimester of 2023. It seems like Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu, the reigning Miss Universe, will have a longer reign.

There is also talks going around that the national directors have received an official statement from the Miss Universe Organization via e-mail confirming that the 71st edition of the pageant will happen in the first trimester of 2023.

However, the organization is yet to make an official statement regarding the same.

It’s also not true that Puerto Rico is negotiating to host this edition. El Vocero published that the Puerto Rican government has been negotiating to host the pageant’s 72nd edition. The finale date and venue for the 71st edition is yet to be announced.

Miss Universe 2021 was the 70th Miss Universe pageant which was held at the Universe Dome in Eilat, Israel on 13th December 2021 where India’s Harnaaz Sandhu was crowned the new queen. It was India's first victory in 21 years, and the third victory of the country in the pageant's history. Sandhu became the first ever Sikh woman who won the title of Miss Universe.
