With the announcement of the Miss Universe 2016 finale date and venue, the delegates are gearing up with full preparation for the pageant. With more than 100 countries competing for the title this year, there are few who have managed to stand out in the crowd. One such contender this year is Miss Universe Australia 2016 Caris Tiivel.
Caris Tiivel was in news post her crowning for her striking resemblance with Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr. Another reason that got everyone talking about her was her topless pictures that went viral over the internet. Caris has finally decided to speak up about her topless shoot. The pictures surfaced in September, just weeks after her crowning.
“In regards to those pictures, they were ones that were professionally done in New York, with an amazing photographer,” Caris clarified. “I would never do something that wasn’t tasteful. They were just topless. Some of the past Miss Universe winners, they’ve had a modelling background and they’ve done shoots where they are topless and stuff,” she added.
The 23 years old also mentioned that she is proud of those pictured which were taken when she was only 19. “With the shoot, I did that before I even knew I was going to enter Miss Universe so I think now that I’m in this position, I wouldn’t want to do anything to jeopardise my image to the public and have people think any less of me,” said Caris.
Caris even talked about her preparation for the Miss Universe pageant and said she has been keeping herself updated with current affairs aspart of her preparation. She also added that she is yet to prepare herself with questions related to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. Caris said, “It’s kind of hard because you have to be very diplomatic when you answer and you have to be aware of your location as well, so you don’t offend anyone. There’s no wrong or right answer really. It’s just your opinion.”
Looks like Australia is going to give a tough competition to other countries this year at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant scheduled to be held on 30th January 2017 in Philippines. What do you think?
