Newly crowned Miss Universe Australia Olivia Rogers talks about mental health struggles and fear

The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a man's determination. Yes! This line can be rightly used for the beautiful Olivia Rogers, the newly crowned Miss Universe Australia 2017. Olivia Rogers represented South Australia at the Miss Universe Australia 2017 finals at the Sofitel Melbourne and was crowned as the winner.

She reached the level through her hard work, determination and will power. The beauty achieved so much because she believed in herself and conquered all the odds that came along the way. She fought anxiety and depression when she was younger and still has anxiety within.

In one of her interviews she said, “I thought at first I could get over it myself but I realised that wasn't the case... I still get anxiety but I know how to cope with it.”

Rogers is presently preparing to represent Australia at Miss Universe pageant to be held later this year. She revealed that she was a chubby and nerdy child and never dreamt to be a model.

“Even in front of my family I am a bit self-conscious. So getting up on stage in front of a lot of people in not much was very scary,” she said.

She wants to raise her voice on mental health and help young women to move forward to achieve their goals. She also thanked the people who supported her throughout the journey.

“Thank you to the gorgeous 31 girls standing up there with me, I love you all so much!!!!! And of course a huuuuuge thank you to my amazing friends and family for believing in me & for all of the generous messages of love and congratulations - I'm so overwhelmed!

“I am beyond excited to represent this beautiful country; I will do my best to make you all proud.” She ended.

How amazing it is to handle the fears and insecurities within and come out to be the shining winner. It was all her hard work and determination that helped her to come out of the web of negativities. Now, Rogers is all set to compete in the prestigious Miss Universe beauty pageant to be held later this year.
