On 6th July 2017, Austria will crown its representatives for the major international pageants – Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss Earth, and Miss International - for 2017. The Organisation has selected 20 gorgeous finalists from all over Austria to compete for the coveted title. What is interesting this year is the fact that the finalists shortlisted to compete for the title are all stunners.
The gala finale is scheduled to be held at Casino Baden, and round 400 guests from business, and media sectors will be present. A panel of expert international jury has also been appointed this year to select the winners. Looks like, the organization is keeping all the factors in mind this year to come up with a batch of stunners for 2017 edition.
Talking about the Miss World pageant, Austria has won the Miss World title only twice so far; the first was in the year 1969 under the representation of Eva Rueber-Staier, and the second was in the year 1987 when Ulla Weigerstorfer won the title. The country has never won a Miss Universe, Miss Earth or Miss International title. But, going by the selection of contestants this year, it seems like the country is all set to conquer the world of international pageants. You must take a look at the contenders this year.

If we talk about the sash game at international pageants then there isn’t any anymore. Well, if you jog your memory a bit, you will see that Miss World 2015 was won by Mireia Lalaguna who was from Spain, also the Miss World 2016 title was won by the Puerto Rican beauty Stephanie Del Valle. In fact, Miss Universe 2016 and Miss Earth 2016 titles were won by the representatives from the countries that were not considered a stronger sash – Iris Mittenaere (France) Miss Universe 2016 and Katherine Espin (Ecuador) Miss Earth 2016. Hence, the sash game is no more a criteria at the international pageants, when it comes to crowning a winner.
Therefore, going by all the above mentioned factors, it is only fair to conclude that Austria is making a comeback and that too with a major upgrade.
