With less than a month to go for Miss Universe 2022 finale, the contestants have started to present their national costumes which they will be presenting at the national costume competition of Miss Universe 2022. Joining the list is Bolivia’s Camila Sanabria who will be wearing the costume titled ‘Potosi Majestuoso’.

The design of the costume ‘Qhapaq Ñan Art’ is done by Jhesmani Fernandez and Jessica Aleida. Potosí imperial villa is a city in the southwest of Bolivia. It extends to the foothills of a legendary mountain called Cerro Rico, on which the largest silver mine in the world was located. So much silver has been extracted from Cerro de Potosí, that it is said that with only a minimal part of what was extracted in the first decades of the viceregal era, a silver bridge could be raised and built; from Potosí, in America, to Spain itself in Europe.

The national costume of Camila wears a cloak with embroidery from the Calcha Culture with 5000 silver coins, precious crystals and goldsmith moles paying homage to the contribution that Potosí had to the world. She also wears a silver-plated mining helmet and on it a condor that is the greatness of the Andes. In the inner part of the cloak is the daughter of Wirakocha, an embroidered dress with more than 100,000 beads, sequins and precious stones. The costume is absolutely stunning with a special meaning representing the history and culture of Bolivia.

Miss Universe 2022, the 71st Miss Universe pageant, will be held at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States on 14th January 2023. Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu of India will crown her successor at the end of the event.
