The 70th edition of Miss Universe pageant, Miss Universe 2021, is all set to be held on 13th December 2021 in Eilat, Israel as Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza of Mexico will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.

While the delegates are in the last leg of their preparations and have started to depart for the host country, Miss Universe Cambodia 2021 Ngin Marady has revealed her national costume for the preliminary competition at the 70th Miss Universe pageant.

The costume represents Khmer ladies in the work of promoting Khmer cultural art through various theatre and dance styles. The traditional ensemble is conceptualised and designed by Tek Kreong and Krom Kmeng Wat. And the beautiful fabric is brought to life by Mr. Den Dano, who tailored the costume to perfection.

The design is encompassing of Lkon Khol or Pheani, a type of masked traditional dance since the 10th century AD, Big Skin Shadow Theater, a type of Khmer art that dates back more than 2,000 years by Indianization since the first century AD and Romduol Flower, the national flower of the country. And also, The Royal Ballet, which is a traditional Khmer dance, a form of art, worship and peace from the underworld to the realm of the gods.

The 22-year-old is a freshman international relations student. Marady is multilingual and can speak fluent Khmer, English and Thai. She is also well versed with Cambodian traditional dance styles like Romvong, Saravann, Lam Leav, Chok Krapeus and Rom Kbach and can perform them with grace. A spokesperson and ambassador of an LGBTQ organization called Love is Diversity, Marady helps raise awareness against such discrimination.

She will now be showcasing her ethereal national costume at the Miss Universe competition, reflecting the essence of her country.
