The 2022 edition Miss Universe Canada is all set to be held soon as the organization has revealed the official delegates to compete for the national competition. The winner will succeed Miss Universe Canada 2021 Tamara Jemuovic and will represent Canada at Miss Universe 2022.

 While this year’s batch boasts of stunning and talented ladies who will give a stiff competition to each other for the crown, some beauties have stood out as strong and potential favourites for the title. So, without any further ado here are our Top 20 Hot Picks for Miss Universe Canada 2022 (in no particular order) –

Madison Kvatlin

Madison is a woman of passion and adventure; she aims to be a positive and vibrant light in any room. Growing up in a small town inspired her to travel and push for means greater than her own. She is a serial entrepreneur, using her Sociology and Business skills to continue her positive impact on the world, creating a company that directly promotes her platform of positive body image and body confidence. Madison is a massive believer that beauty fades, but the impact you make on the world can last a lifetime.

Mattea Henderson

Mattea is 5th generation Canadian with a decade of pageant experience. Concurrently completing her Undergraduate in Marketing and International Business, she represented Canada internationally four times in Central America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. She is a Strategic Consultant in cryptocurrency, she creatively incorporates community-building initiatives with all clients. The diva sustained a brain injury at birth and continues to advocate for Autism and Asperger Awareness, inspired by her partner. Mattea believes in embracing your weaknesses as new challenges and opportunities to grow, be creative and develop confidence.

Maneet Khera

Being second generation Canadian and born into an immigrant family, Maneet has always appreciated the hard work her parents did to give her the fulfilling life she has today as an educated, empowered, independent woman. Maneet is currently nearing the completion of her master’s degree and on the path to becoming a registered psychologist. She has worked for the government of Canada, alongside also pursuing her ambition for modeling and acting. Maneet hopes to encourage open discussions, youth education on mental health and inspire young girls to shatter glass ceilings.

Rosie Smith

Rosie Smith is an ACTRA actress, entrepreneur and part-time model from Toronto, Ontario. She is also the co-author of Pursuit: 365, a best-selling book published at Indigo bookstores. Four years ago Rosie overcame a health challenge, a rare condition impacting her heart. This experience made Rosie grateful and motivated her for any opportunity that comes her way. Compassionate, determined and vivacious, Dr. Sophie Church graduated from Dalhousie Medical School in 2020 at the top of her class. Sophie has found strength through her own struggle with depression and is now training to be a Psychiatrist. She is a PADI-certified diver, and has studied French, Spanish and German. Sophie hopes to become the first physician to win Miss Universe Canada. She believes empowering women is the key to a brighter future and is trading her stethoscope for a sash to show the world that women can achieve anything.

Talia Haleem

Talia was born in Sri Lanka and moved to Canada at the age of 8. She is now a proud Canadian citizen and spends her time advocating for gender and racial equality, social justice, human rights, and body positivity within her community. She completed her bachelor’s degree in International Relations at the University of Calgary and is currently enrolled in her master’s degree in International Law at SOAS- University of London. She loves travelling and has been to 40 countries. Her career ambitions include working for The United Nations on International and Human Rights Law and/or working for the Canadian Government as an ambassador to Canada.

Quinn Teechma

Quinn was born and raised on a remote Island ‘Lasqueti’ on the West coast of Canada. She is a six-figure photography business owner and educator, who is inspiring others to create positive lasting change in their lives. Pamela Abou Khalil

Pamela was born in Lebanon, which gave her immense appreciation for education and opportunity in Canada. She graduated with distinction with a Bachelor of Business Administration and is preparing to pursue her Masters. After she graduated, Pamela started working at Canada’s second largest financial institution, where she applies her work ethic and independence. When she is not working, Pamela enjoys working out and volunteering. Pamela is an advocate for supporting women in leadership. She is also dedicated to serving children and women who are experiencing abuse and homelessness.

Maya Woods

Maya Woods was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. Born into an artistic family she trained in singing, acting, music and dance. Growing up she spent most of her time at the dance studio learning and excelling in various styles of dance. Maya is driven and has the determination to achieve her goals, in 2018 she was awarded the title of Dancer of the Year. Now in University for psychology and life science she aims to become a psychiatrist to help people achieve a better mental health.

Michaela Varughese

Michaela is a proud Canadian, born and raised in Alberta. Michaela has completed and obtained her Medical Degree and plans to pursue a career in Family Medicine. She was crowned Dr. Canada 2021. Michaela loves spending her time travelling with her family and friends and has lived in 4 different countries but will always consider Canada her home. During her spare time, Michaela volunteers at the University of Calgary Foothills Hospital as a Research Assistant & also serves as a Sunday School teacher for her local community.

Lia Loebenberg

Lia is a trilingual science student, aspiring doctor and active volunteer from Montreal, Quebec. Losing her older sister to cancer has inspired her to devote herself to the support of children with life-threatening illness. She has over 20 awards and medals for her achievements in research and science. Lia has a genuine love of life and cherishes her family. She would like to show the world that our bodies and backgrounds do not speak of our value and that our true beauty is found in what we do, not just how we look.

Linda Zhao

Linda was born in China, and raised in Vancouver BC. She currently works in the insurance industry and continues to model. She is a passionate advocate for mental health awareness, having worked with Jack.org, and looks to further educate and destigmatize mental health. She She believes in living life through a lens of compassion, to always have empathy and demonstrate love when given the opportunity. Being close to the water is what feels like home to her, and she believes that you can do anything as long as you are brave enough to envision yourself succeeding.

Lannie Houle

Lannie Houle is an Indigenous Plains Cree woman born and raised in Goodfish Lake, AB and Vernon, BC. After running for Team Canada at the WIG where she earned a silver medal and Nike races Lannie attend University of Concordia where she competed on the cross-country and indoor track team. Currently Lannie is working with Spirit North which is a national charitable organization that uses land-bases activities to improve the health and well-being of Indigenous youth, empowering them to become unstoppable in sport, school and life. Lannie uses her platform from her athletic career to give back to Indigenous communities across Alberta and now expanding into British Columbia.

Korrena Thompson

Korrena was born in Scarborough, Ontario and is currently a student at the University of Toronto and is an optometrist assistant. She loves music and has been playing the alto saxophone since she was 10 years old. In her spare time, she models and has worked with the likes of Alessia Cara and Ali Gatie. She also owns her own company ‘Vie Authentique’, which sells natural body products. She loves giving back to the community by volunteering at 5n2 Kitchens and likes to keep her mind clear by working out.

Kaila Enriquez

Kaila was born in the Philippines and become Canadian year 2020. She is a Full time Flight Attendant at Porter Airlines, and she enjoys every day working because she loves meeting new people and learning different culture. She completed her studies in Flight Services at Seneca college year 2019. This year, she’s back studying at Seneca College for American Sign Language course. She is also part of Senior Citizen charity of a Christian church called ICFI (I Charity Foundation International) an organization that helps the seniors to cope with loneliness and anxiety.

Jilldeen Ezeude

Jilldeen Ezeudu is a University of Ottawa Alumni with a Bachelors in BCom, Specification Human Resources Management. She is a Canadian born Afro-Caribbean, originating from Brampton, Ontario with Nigerian and Trinidadian heritage. She has collected multiple humanitarian awards from school and is an avid speaker on social issues, as to why she started a podcast called ‘Join The Discussion’. She recently taught herself how to sew and is starting two business ventures in food and retail. She is currently a published international freelance model and community muse.

Jacqueline Adele Marsh

Jacqueline Juntilla Marsh is a confident young woman born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario. As someone who has faced her own challenges with mental health during the pandemic, Jacqueline is an advocate for mental health and reducing the stigma. She worked on the dedicated Covid-19 unit at her hospital and continues to work as a surgical nurse, volunteers in her community, and leads youth projects in the Philippines. Jacqueline grew up admiring the women in pageantry and aspires to use her platform to inspire change and represent Canada with pride.

Hanna Begovic

Hanna Begovic is a proud first generation Canadian who loves sharing her creativity with others. She has been training in dance since the age of 8 and recently graduated from York University’s dance program with a Bachelors of Fine Arts. She is currently a dance instructor, leading, inspiring and motivating the artists of the future. Hanna loves supporting causes she is passionate about, and works hard to help support her single mother and 3 younger siblings. The top 3 delegates with the highest number of votes will be announced at the Preliminary Show on 12th May 2022. The winner will be announced during the finals on May 14 and will automatically be in the top 20 semi-finalists.
