Egypt to make a comeback at the Miss Universe pageant this year

Miss Universe 2017 pageant has been the topic of discussion for a while now. No, there hasn’t been any controversy as such, but there were rumours that the pageant will be held in the Philippines. However, it turned out that the Philippines will not be hosting the pageant this year, and the host city is yet to be announced.

In a recent update, Egypt will make a comeback at the Miss Universe pageant this year. The country will make a comeback under the new directorship of Hoda Abbound. In 1987, Hoda became the first official Miss Egypt and went on to represent the country at the Miss Universe pageant held in Singapore. The last time Egypt competed at the Miss Universe pageant was in the year 2014. After 2014, the pageant was abandoned by the former organization.

According to the sources, this year the Miss Egypt pageant will take place in the month of October and will be low key due to lack of time. A brand new pageant will be officially launched next year.

Miss Universe in an annual international beauty pageant, It is part of the prestigious Big Four pageants along with the Miss World, Miss Earth and Miss International. The pageant is run by the Miss Universe Organisation. The pageant was founded in the year 1952; it started as a local "bathing beauty" competition organized by Catalina Swimwear in Long Beach, California.
