It’s official!

Flora Coquerel has been appointed the Miss Universe France 2015, and she will now represent France at the Miss Universe 2015 international pageant on December 20, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sylvie Tellier (the national director of Miss France) has announced via a press release that the French delegate will vie at the international pageant.

The 21-year-old was supposed to compete for both, Miss World 2014 and Miss Universe 2014. However the propinquity of dates between her Miss World competition, her sense of duties in turning over her title for the Miss France pageant, and the January schedule of Miss Universe, could not permit her to compete in both.

Hailing from Mont-Saint-Aignan, Flora is a Beninese-French model and is currently studying International Trade. Her father is French and her mother is from the West African state of Benin.

"I’m back in the race for the scarf! I am very proud and happy to wear again the colors of France, thank you to Miss France and Miss Universe for your confidence. I am ready to do my best to hold high our flag and bring a new crown! See you next on December 20th live from Las Vegas for the finale! I count on your support!" – Flora posted on her official Facebook page.

"I am very proud to represent a cosmopolitan France. It shows that today’s France is a mixed France, where there is every culture, and I think a lot of people will see themselves in me." stated the beauty queen.

Earlier she had represented France at Miss World 2014, which took place in London, United Kingdom, on December 14, 2014. Though, she remained unplaced in that competition.

In the year 2014, Flora was crowned as Miss France and represented the region of Orléanais at the pageant.  After winning in Dauphine, over Miss Guadeloupe, Miss Côte d'Azur, Miss Provence and Miss Tahiti, who were placed at fourth, third, second and first position, respectively, she was crowned by the Miss France 2013—Marine Lorphelin.

She received the highest interview score and was in the top 20 at Miss World Top Model contest, and top 25 in the People’s Choice for Miss World 2015. Unfortunately, she failed to make the cut in Top 25 in the finale.

Standing tall at a towering height of 5’ 11”, the lass is super sexy, poised and elegant. She for sure is expected to give tough competition to the contestants at the forthcoming Miss Universe.

At Miss Universe 2015, the reigning queen Paulina Vega of Colombia will crown her successor at the end of the event. This will be the first edition of the Miss Universe pageant under the new owners (WME/IMG), and will be the first aired by Fox.

What do you think? Does Flora Coquerel has what it takes to be the next Miss Universe?
