The sixth contestant to be introduced in the series of our Top 10 favourite contestants competing for the title is Miss Northern Lights 2018 Móeiður Svala Magnúsdóttir.
Móeiður was born and raised in Reykjavik and has always loved animals because of how much her dog helped her when she was a child going through her parent’s divorce. Her passion is to blog, take pictures, bake cakes, fashion and snowboarding. But what she loves most is to lie on the beach with a book in her hand and listen to the waves. It is very important to her to live a healthy lifestyle and be active, and she is a strong believer in that kindness can change the world.
The pageant started off on a bit of a bad foot this year, with controversies following it since the start. Miss Universe Iceland organization had announced that it is open for registration and looking for a representative, but, the news was taken in a slightly offensive manner when the requirements to qualify as a contestant were revealed.
One of the requirements qualifications stated that: ‘The applicant must be physically certified as a female by an Icelandic doctor. However, things sorted out after the organizers took responsible steps to clarify the confusion.
