Birta Abiba Þórhallsdóttir debuted at such a coveted platform of Miss Universe in 2019 that she set an almost impassable goal for beauties to follow with her incredible performance and sincerity. At just 20 years of age, Birta has shown such incredible graph of growth and development.

Born and raised in Mosfellsbær, Birta is of partial Congolese descent. At such a young age, Birta has suffered a lot in life. She was the victim of racism, having experienced violence and verbal abuse because of her skin colour. As a teenager, Birta instead focused on her creativity and wrote a full-length novel.

Birta has worked for the International Red Cross study aid program, in an effort to encourage children's literacy and education abroad. She debuted in the pageantry as she represented Geysir at Miss Universe Iceland 2019 and went on to win the national crown. As she then represented Iceland at Miss Universe 2019, Birta became a crowd’s favourite and ended up being placed in the Top 10.

A confident speaker and beautiful inside-out, Birta shows immense potential to even win an international crown for her country. After Miss Universe, ofcourse there is no higher goal to achieve, but Birta can surely participate in equally acclaimed pageants such as Miss World, Miss International or Miss Earth. Having a personal story to turn into an advocacy, Birta will surely manage to do good by people who have suffered through the same fate.

The stunning beauty’s journey as already begun on a high note in the pageant world and her biggest advantage is her age as she has almost 8 years to give her try at international platforms. For her, the next big thing could be Miss World where she could promote equality in race and that everybody is beautiful no matter how they look on the outside.

What do you think?
