Miss Universe Iceland 2019 Meet the Delegates

Miss Universe Iceland 2019 is all set to host its grand coronation night on 31st August 2019 where gorgeous ladies from all over Iceland will compete for the national crown and the opportunity to represent Iceland in Miss Universe 2019.

The winner of Miss Universe Iceland 2019 will succeed and be crowned by Miss Universe Iceland 2018 Katrín Lea Elenudóttir. Here are the eight ladies competing for the national crown –

Hulda Vigdisardottir - Miss 101 Reykjavik 2019

Hulda was born and raised in 101 Reykjavík. After graduation from Menntaskólinn í Reykjavík where she majored in Languages (studied seven languages in total), she subsequently studied Linguistics at Háskóli Íslands. She completed her Bachelor's Degree in Icelandic and German two years later and at the age of 22 became the youngest ever to earn a Master's Degree in Icelandic Grammar. She now studies to become a speech-language pathologist. With a strong passion for writing, she has had many articles published in the media and last Christmas she published her first book. She translated the Nutcracker and the Mouse King into Icelandic from 18th century German which was the first time the Nutcracker was published in the Icelandic language. She has been working as an international model for the past seven years and catches every opportunity she gets to travel. She danced ballet and contemporary dance for 13 years and loves acting, doing yoga, pilates, swimming, photography, hiking and trying out new things at the gym.

Kolfinna Mist Austfjord Miss Akureyri 2019

Misty is a 22 year old singer/songwriter from Akureyri. She moved to Norway at 14 and just recently moved back to Iceland after completing her education in Music. She has used her music to contribute to several charities over the years through benefit concerts. In 2018, she got to show support for the cause closest to her heart, LGBTQ+ rights when she headlined Oslo Pride. One fun fact about Misty is that her favorite holiday is Halloween and one year she wore a different costume every day of October to school.

Tinna Björk Stefánsdóttir Miss Black Sand Beach 2019

Tinna is 25 years old, born and raised in Grindavík. She is a strong believer of positive body image and wants to spread the word to young people. She maintains a healthy lifestyle and loves going to yoga classes and the gym. Tinna loves her dogs and spends a lot of time with family and friends. She considers herself to be very down to earth and easy going and loves getting to know new people. Her favorite quote is “to me beauty is about being comfortable in your own skin. It’s about knowing and accepting who you are.”

Dísa Dungal - Miss Blue Mountains 2019

Disa describes herself as an adventurous and loving yoga-fairy. She graduated with a Master’s Degree in Sports and Health Science from the University of Iceland at the age of 24. For the past years few years she has worked as a fitness trainer, health consultant and a yoga teacher and recently started her own company Topp.is where she helps people learn and embrace living a healthier lifestyle. Every year she travels abroad to experience the world and expand her knowledge and she visited Guatemala this year. Disa loves nature, snowboarding and cooking healthy vegetarian meals. Her goal is to expand her platform for inspiring the world to practice self-love by being a role model and living a healthier, more eco- friendly and honest lifestyle.

Nadía Sif Líndal Gunnarsdóttir Miss Capital Region 2019

Nadia considers her personality to be uplifting, cheerful and happy. She always has a smile on her face and likes cheering people up to make their days better. She has worked with disabled children and would like to open a new school for them to ensure a loving and protective environment that provides the best education possible. In addition, she hopes to one day become a successful actress and be an inspiration for children who struggle with low self-esteem. She is passionate about erasing hatred in the world, eating healthy and reducing the amount of plastics we use in society.

Jóhanna Kolbrún Guðbrandsdóttir Miss Central Reykjavik 2019

Johanna is 20 years old and grew up is Selfoss but is currently living in downtown Reykjavík. She is a licensed makeup artist and is working on finishing her junior college degree so she can begin her coursework in Children’s Psychology. Her hobbies include traveling, doing makeup, living a healthy lifestyle and being with family and friends. Her life goal is to experience as much as she can and become a Child Psychologist and help children in need so that future generations are in a good position to live happy, healthy, fulfilling and successful lives.

Björt Hjaltadóttir Miss Crystal Beach 2019

Linda Björt is 19 years old and is passionate about making a difference in today’s society by using her platform to inform people and raise awareness about nature conservation. Linda speaks Icelandic and English fluently and is currently studying Spanish and Sign Language. She likes traveling and learning about different cultures. Her hobbies include music, fashion, design, watching films and advocating on using the golden rule in life. She has realized her lifestyle increasingly becomes healthier as she gets older and hopes to pursue veganism in the future.

Sólveig Ólafsdóttir Miss East Reykjavik 2019

Sólveig is 22 years old, lives in Reykjavík but grew up in Biskupstungur and Snæfellsnes for many years. She has been dancing for 10 years with her specialty being street dance styles. She has taught ages 18+ classes for 3 years teaching women how to be poised and graceful. She is also a big advocate in sharing the message that beauty, sexiness, class and charm all come from within proving that a woman with confidence is unstoppable.

Karín Mist Kjerúlf Miss Eastern Iceland 2019

Karin Mist grew up in a small town in East Iceland called Fáskrúðsfjörður. She is currently living in Reykjavík while studying Law at the University of Iceland. While her current focus is studying for her law degree, she also enjoys learning and reading about the topics of health and skincare.

Kristrún Hrafnsdottir Miss Eyjafjordur 2019

Kristrún is 25 years old and was born and raised in the countryside near Akureyri. She aims to study Business and Social Studies this coming Fall. Her ideal career would be working in the Marketing and Media industry. As a Miss Universe Iceland contestant she wants to use her platform to spread awareness for mental health and body-positivity.

Hugrún Birta Egilsdóttir Miss Gardabaer 2019

Hugrún Birta is 23 years old and was born and raised in Reykjavík and currently living in Garðabær. She is a student planning to graduate with a Degree in Marketing and also works as a cosmetic brand manager.

Birta Abiba Miss Geysir 2019

Birta Abiba is 19 years old and lives in Mosfellsbær. She loves to spend her free time reading and writing. She has written a full length novel and her goal is to become a successful published author.

Sara Djeddou Baldursdóttir Miss Glacier Lagoon 2019

Sara was born in Akranes but raised in Mosfellsbær. Being exposed to multicultural surroundings and through her travels to 50 countries, Sara is passionate about tolerance and respect for diversity. With a passion for working with children, she currently works at a home for autistic children. Sara also works with her mother in the financial sector and is pursuing a Degree in Finance.

Berglind Kristjánsdóttir Miss Grafarvogur 2019

Berglind is 23 years old and was born and raised in 112 Reykjavík. She graduated from Menntaskólinn í Kópavogi in 2016 as a professional waiter and has even had great success in chef competitions. She is currently attending Tækniskólinn pursuing a second degree and works multiple jobs to help fund her schooling expenses.

Ingibjörg Gróa Gunnarsdóttir Miss Hafnarfjordur 2019

Ingibjörg Gróa is a 24 year-old born and raised in Hafnarfjörður. She loves to help others and is currently working & helping physically handicapped people with their daily routines but her plan is to study Business Management.

Helena Hrönn Haraldsdóttir Miss Kirkjufell 2019

Helena Hrönn is 22 years old and lives in Hafnarfjörður. Helena works at a gym which she enjoys very much and is currently a student at the University of Iceland.

Jóna Dóra Hólmarsdóttir Miss Land Of Fire And Ice 2019

Jóna is passionate about reading personal development and business books. She is currently working as a consultant at Dale Carnegie. In addition, she works with the handicapped in taking care of their daily needs.

Elísabet Hulda Snorradóttir Miss Northern Lights 2019

Elísabet is 20 years old and is a recent school graduate. She works part time job as a Northern Lights guide which is why she wanted to represent the Northern Lights in the Miss Universe Iceland competition. Other than Icelandic and Engish, she speaks Japanese and Korean and is drawn to their alphabets.

Tanja Rós Viktoríudóttir Miss Reykjavik 2019

Tanja Rós, 26, was born in the Ukraine. She moved to Iceland at 13. Already bi-lingual, she taught herself how to speak Icelandic and English. A survivor of bulimia, Tanja is passionate about leading a healthy lifestyle. 

Tinna María Björgvinsdóttir Miss Southern Iceland 2019

Tinna María is 20 years old and currently attending a school called Fjölbrautarskóli Suðurnesja in Keflavik. She was born and raised in Iceland but has lived in Denmark and Spain and is fluent in Spanish and Danish and also speaks English.

Diana Iva Gunnarsdottir Miss Vestmannaeyjar 2019

Diana Iva was born and raised on an island near Iceland called Vestmannaeyjar, which she proudly represents in this competition. She is the youngest of four sisters which has molded her into being a strong and independent woman. She is a 2018 graduate specializing in Interior Design.

Lilja Rún Jensen Miss West Reykjavik 2019

Lilja is 19 years old and lives in Reykjavík. She is a graduate makeup artist from Reykjavík Makeup School and is currently studying in Magnetic Nail School.
